Catcher Josh Gibson smacked 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI and Big Bill Foster
allowed Chicago's manager to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game as the
Chicago Giants defeated the Kansas City Monarchs by the score of 11 to 6 at
Municipal Stadium.
Gibson enjoyed a big evening at the plate. He lofted a three-run bomb in the
5th inning, delivered a solo blast in the 7th inning and ripped a single in
the 9th inning. Both teams totaled 13 hits on the night.
The victory was credited to Foster(3-2) who went the distance, allowing 6
runs. Ray Brown(1-2) ended up with the loss. He allowed 4 homeruns in 8
innings of work.
Wth the win Chicago now has a record of 8-7. With the loss, Kansas City has a
record of 3-7 lately, 7-8 overall.
