First baseman Dan Driessen knocked 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI as the Cincinnati
Reds topped the hapless Atlanta Braves by a score of 6 to 4 at Riverfront
Stadium.
Driessen had a big evening at the plate. He lofted a solo-blast 'downtown' in
the 7th inning and blasted a two-run home run in the 8th inning. For the
game Cincinnati out-hit Atlanta 13 to 5.
Dave Tomlin(2-3) allowed no runs in 1 inning, and picked up the victory. Tom
Hume earned his 8th save. Joey McLaughlin(6-4) was the loser in relief. He
gave up 2 runs and 4 hits in 1 and 2/3 innings.
