The final score was 4 to 2.

Kansas City had the game winning rally in the 8th inning scoring 3 runs using
4 hits. After an out was recorded, Ken Griffey Jr was the sparkplug when he
delivered a solo blast. George Foster followed next and he smashed a
solo-shot out of the park. One out later, Orlando Cepeda stepped in and he
ripped a solo home run. Spoony Palm was up next and he lashed a single.
Kansas City totaled 10 hits on the night.

The win went to Roosevelt Davis(1-0) who allowed no runs in 1 and 1/3 innings.
Oil Can Boyd(0-1) was charged with the loss in relief. He surrended 3
homeruns in his 1 inning.
