Dewey Creacy smashed 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI and Roosevelt Davis allowed
Kansas City's manager to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game as the
Kansas City Monarchs defeated the Newark Eagles 10 to 1 at Yankee
Stadium.
Creacy had a big evening at the plate. He lifted one out of the park for a
two run home run in the 2nd inning, stroked a base-hit in the 4th inning and
blasted a two-run home run in the 5th inning. Kansas City managed 14 hits in
their victory.
The winning pitcher was Davis(3-0) who allowed 1 run for the game. Barney
Brown(0-1) was tagged with the loss. He allowed a few too many baserunners
giving up 10 hits and 4 walks in 6 innings.
'Some days it just all comes together, and this was one of them' Creacy said.
'I've been seeing the ball pretty well lately.'
