Tom Seaver pitched a 3 hitter as the Cincinnati Reds bested the Montreal Expos
5 to 2 at Riverfront Stadium.

Seaver(15-8) was virtually untouchable. He didn't give up much, just 3 hits
and 2 walks in 9 innings. Montreal was retired without difficulty in the
9th.

David Palmer(1-4) was given the loss. He surrendered 8 hits and 4 walks in 6
innings. 'He had his 'A' game tonight,' John McNamara said of Seaver. 'Very
impressive performance.'
