Second baseman Junior Kennedy had 3 base hits at Dodger Stadium as the
Cincinnati Reds beat the Los Angeles Dodgers in 10 innings by the count of 4
to 3.

Both teams were tied at 3 runs apiece after nine innings. Cincinnati was
victorious in the 10th inning. Johnny Bench stroked a base-hit. Dan
Driessen followed and he grounded into a double play. Ray Knight then laced
a single. Hector Cruz followed next and he doubled. Los Angeles had 12 hits
in the game while Cincinnati had 9, but Cincinnati had the more timely hits.

Doug Bair(7-9) went 3 innings allowing no runs for the victory. Dave
Patterson(1-3) ended up with the loss in relief. He pitched 1 inning giving
up 3 hits and no walks.
