First baseman Dan Driessen had 2 base hits and 2 RBI at Veterans Stadium as
the Cincinnati Reds beat the Philadelphia Phillies 7 to 3.

Philadelphia found themselves trailing quickly as the Cincinnati bats came
through in the first inning when they came up with 4 runs on 5 hits. That
was all the runs Mike Lacoss(12-3) needed. Doug Bair came throught with a
perfect ninth inning to earn his 17th save.

Larry Christenson(4-5) was tagged with the loss. He gave up 7 runs in 2 and
1/3 innings of work. Cincinnati now has a record of 75-57. Philadelphia has
a record of 66-64 after the loss.
