Mike Lacoss threw a 3 hitter as the Cincinnati Reds defeated the Los Angeles
Dodgers by the score of 5 to 1 at Riverfront Stadium.
Los Angeles was unable to climb back into it after Cincinnati went ahead for
good in the 2nd inning when they tallied 2 runs on 2 hits. That early
scoring held up. Cincinnati managed 7 hits in their victory.
The victory went to Lacoss(14-3) who went the distance allowing 1 run. The
loss was charged to Charlie Hough(5-11). John McNamara was very impressed
with his pitcher, Lacoss, 'He had unusually good pitch placement tonight. It
was almost unfair - but a beautiful game to watch from where I sat'
