The Cincinnati Reds and the Atlanta Braves locked up in an exciting one-run
game at Fulton Co. Stadium. The final score was the Cincinnati Reds 3, the
Atlanta Braves 2 in 12 innings.

The score was tied at 2 after nine. Cincinnati won the hard fought contest in
the 12th inning. Johnny Bench laced a one-base hit. Ray Knight was next and
he slapped a base-hit. Dan Driessen got his turn next, but he was a
strikeout victim. Hector Cruz stepped in and he hit a sacrifice fly. The
Atlanta offense proved no trouble in the bottom of the 12th.

The win went to Doug Bair(6-9) who allowed no runs in 3 innings. Larry
Bradford(1-1) was tagged with the loss in relief. He pitched 2 innings
allowing 2 hits and no walks.
