The Philadelphia Phillies bested the Cincinnati Reds in 10 innings by a 7 to 4
score at Veterans Stadium.

The score was tied at 4 after nine. Philadelphia came out on top in the 10th
inning. Greg Gross led off the inning for Philadelphia when he reached on an
error. Pete Rose came next and he lined a base-hit. Larry Bowa got his
chance to keep things going, but he went down on strikes. One out later, Del
Unser came to the plate and belted a three-run homer giving Philadelphia the
victory and sending the 47,182 home-town fans home happy. Philadelphia
banged out 9 hits on the night.

The victory was credited to Rawly Eastwick(7-3) who went 2 innings, allowing
