Dave Winfield jacked one out of the ballyard and had 4 RBI as the San Diego
Padres outscored the Cincinnati Reds 12 to 3.

Winfield provided much of the offense. He clubbed a three-run home run in the
1st inning, delivered a one-base hit which plated a run in the 5th inning and
ripped a single in the 7th inning. Cincinnati was out-hit by San Diego, 14
hits to 6.

Bob Shirley(3-10) picked up the victory, allowing 3 runs in 5 and 2/3 innings.
Bob Owchinko was credited with his 2nd save. Mike Lacoss(11-3) was hit with
the loss. He allowed a few too many baserunners giving up 10 hits and 2
walks in 6 innings.
