Fernando Gonzalez ripped 2 homeruns as the San Diego Padres ballclub
embarrassed the Cincinnati Reds by the count of 13 to 2.

It seemed that Cincinnati pitching was serving up softballs for Gonzalez to
hit. He smashed a two-run homer in the 4th inning and emptied the bases with
a Grand Slam homerun in the 7th inning. San Diego had 13 hits for the
afternoon while Cincinnati had 4.

Gaylord Perry(9-11) went 7 and 1/3 innings allowing 2 runs for the win. The
losing pitcher was Tom Seaver(13-8). He was knocked around pretty good,
giving up 6 runs in 3 and 2/3 innings.
