Ron Cey connected with a 'big fly' and had 3 RBI at Dodger Stadium as the Los
Angeles Dodgers beat the Cincinnati Reds in 12 innings 5 to 4.
 
The score was knotted at 4 after nine innings.  Finally, Los Angeles prevailed
in the 12th inning.  Steve Yeager drew a walk.  Gary Thomasson followed next
and he ripped a base-knock.  After an out was recorded, Vic Davalillo stepped
up to the plate and he lined a single to load the bases.  Davey Lopes stepped
in and he drew a walk making Los Angeles the winners and sending the 54,324
fans home happy.  Los Angeles and Cincinnati each finished the afternoon with
10 hits.  
 
The winning pitcher was Bobby Castillo(2-0) who allowed no runs in 2 innings.
Tom Hume(10-13) was given the loss in relief.  He pitched 1 and 1/3 innings
giving up 3 hits and 2 walks.
