Mike Lacoss went 9 strong innings as the Cincinnati Reds defeated the league
door-mat Atlanta Braves by the score of 4 to 0 at Fulton Co.
Stadium.

Cincinnati claimed the early lead in the first inning plating an isolated run.
The early run support proved sufficient for Lacoss(9-2) and Cincinnati.
That was all the run support Lacoss required. Cincinnati finished with 7
hits in the victory.

Phil Niekro(10-12) was charged with the loss. 'I thought it was my best
performance in a long time,' said Lacoss. 'I had good command early in the
game. I had my control and composure and everything went well.'
