John Milner ripped 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI as the Pittsburgh Pirates
outscored the Cincinnati Reds 6 to 3.

Milner had a big evening at the plate. He slapped a base-hit plating a run in
the 1st inning, smashed a bases-empty 'big-fly' in the 5th inning and cracked
a solo homerun in the 7th inning. Cincinnati threatened in the 9th but
Pittsburgh was able to put down the rally.

The victory was credited to John Candelaria(4-8) who went 8 and 2/3 innings,
allowing 3 runs. The loss was charged to Tom Seaver(11-7). 'We didn't get
the key hits when we needed them' John McNamara said. 'We did what we could,
we just didn't pull out the win. What can you say?'
