Left fielder Ken Henderson cracked a homer as the Chicago Cubs beat the
Cincinnati Reds by a score of 7 to 4.
Chicago came up with 4 runs in the 5th inning when they came up with 3 base
hits. The highlight belonged to Larry Biittner who disappointed the partisan
crowd when he smacked a three-run homer. Cincinnati had a chance in the 9th
but they came up short.
Dennis Lamp(6-4) picked up the victory, allowing 2 runs in 6 and 1/3 innings.
Lamp got relief help from Bruce Sutter who gained credit for his 21st save.
Fred Norman(9-4) was the losing pitcher. He surrendered 6 runs and 8 hits in
6 innings.
