Dave Kingman rocketed 2 homeruns at Wrigley Field as the Chicago Cubs belted
the Cincinnati Reds by the count of 13 to 2.
Kingman had a great day at the plate. He had the crowd cheering his every
move. He tripled in the 6th inning, delivered a solo blast in the 8th inning
and launched a Grand Slam homerun in the 8th inning. Chicago had 15 hits for
the afternoon while Cincinnati had 5.
Bill Caudill(2-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 6 innings and allowing
2 runs. Dick Tidrow preserved the game for Caudill, recording his his 1st.
Tom Hume(7-7) took the loss.
'I didn't feel that good when I came to the park today,' Kingman said. 'I'm
glad I decided to play!'
