Vic Correll jacked one out of the ballyard and had 2 RBI and Tom Seaver had a
strong outing as the Cincinnati Reds outscored the San Francisco Giants 4 to
1.
 
Cincinnati took the lead for good in the top of the 5th inning when they
tallied 2 runs on 2 hits.  The San Francisco batters didn't put up a fight in
the bottom of the 9th.  
 
The winning pitcher was Seaver(9-4) who allowed 1 run in 8 innings. Seaver got
help from Dave Tomlin who was credited with his 3rd save.  John
Montefusco(4-3) was tagged with the loss.
