The Cincinnati Reds registered 5 runs in the 2nd inning and had an easy time
of it at Riverfront Stadium defeating the floundering Philadelphia Phillies
by a score of 8 to 1.

The Cincinnati fans enjoyed the offense provided by George Foster. He slapped
a base-hit which scored a run in the 1st inning and belted a three-run homer
in the 2nd inning. Cincinnati finished with 13 hits while Philadelphia ended
up with 5.

Paul Moskau(2-2) went 7 and 2/3 innings allowing 1 run for the win. Dick
Ruthven(5-2) was charged with the loss. He allowed 6 hits and 3 walks in 1
and 1/3 innings.
