In a thriling finish the red-hot Houston Astros pulled off the win over the
Cincinnati Reds by a score of 4 to 3 at The Astrodome.
Houston won the game with a run in the 9th inning. Terry Puhl delivered a
solo blast making Houston the victor and beginning a joyous home town
celebration. Houston out-hit Cincinnati for the game, 10 hits to 5.
The victory went to Bert Roberge(1-0) who went 2 innings, allowing no runs.
The loss was charged to Tom Hume(4-5) in relief. He surrendered 1 run and 1
hit in 1 inning.
