In a good matchup it was the Cincinnati Reds 6, the slumping Philadelphia
Phillies 3 at Riverfront Stadium.
Cincinnati took the lead for good in the 2nd inning with 2 runs on 2 hits.
Ray Knight opened up the scoring as he lofted a solo-blast 'downtown'. Dan
Driessen followed and he drew a walk. Driessen then stole second base. Paul
Blair followed next and he ripped a one-base hit. After another out, Ken
Griffey stepped in and he grounded into a double play. Cincinnati had 11
hits for the game and Philadelphia had 6.
The win was credited to Mike Lacoss(6-1) who went 8 innings allowing 2 runs.
Randy Lerch(2-4) was charged with the loss. He gave up 4 runs and 7 hits in
