WEB GEMS- Top 2nd: Darren Daulton blocked the plate, saving a run!
Center fielder Eric Davis slammed 2 homeruns as the Philadelphia Phillies
outscored the Brooklyn Dodgers 11 to 4.
Davis had a great day at the plate. He laced a base-hit in the 2nd inning,
electrified the crowd with a Grand Slam home run in the 5th inning and
launched a Grand Slam homerun (his 4th of the season) in the 8th inning.
Philadelphia had 13 hits overall, while Brooklyn had 9.
The victory was credited to Doug Drabek(3-3) who went 8 innings, allowing 4
runs. Ed Whitson(3-4) was hit with the loss. He allowed a few too many
baserunners giving up 9 hits and 3 walks in 6 innings.
'Some days it just all comes together, and this was one of them' Davis said.
'I've been seeing the ball pretty well lately.'
